Deep enough for soup and wide enough for breakfast. 160 across against 75 down is the proportion that keeps a bowl from turning into a mug with ambitions.

Yours will not match this one exactly
Bare clay keeps the record of the kiln: pieces set nearer the flame emerge a half-tone warmer, and are never sorted to match. We photograph one piece from a firing and send you another from the same one. The difference is small, it is real, and it is the reason this is not factory ware.
Firing record
- Clay
- Stoneware, grogged
- Glaze
- White gloss, interior only
- Cone

- Atmosphere
- Reduction
Cone 10 is 1285 °C. Reduction is an oxygen-starved kiln — it is what greys the glaze and warms the bare clay.

Care
- Dishwasher
- Yes. Fired to 1285 °C — a dishwasher is nothing.
- Oven
- To 220 °C. Never straight from the fridge.
- The foot
- Left unglazed and slightly rough. It will mark a soft table — use a cloth.
